Defeating SCMS
(Serial Copy Management System)
I found this on the net sometime ago, and after a lot of requests, decided to
setup a local copy also. This is not my work. Refer to the accompanying text
from the designer. I only merged the GIF picture showing
the PCB layout from the ones in the GIF archive. Also,
I added a list of components used.
With a bit of work, any electronic geek can figure out how things work here. Basically,
this board features:
- high performance jitter correction;
- removes SCMS copy protection;
- multiple inputs/outputs, both optical and coaxial;
Contrary to earlier statements, the SCMS killer does seem to remove track marks
in most cases.
